Over the past few years two rally cars have emerged as the main contenders in both the WRC and National Group N rally championships. The Subaru Impreza and the Mitsubishi Lancer both have four wheel drive and powerful turbo charged engines if you had the choice which one would you drive?

The choice of car can make the difference between winning a championship and losing it ! However, everybody has a favourite, which is yours ? By coming and experiencing a Battle of the Thoroughbreds course you can try both cars and make your own mind up. Find out each car?s strengths and weaknesses, see which one suits your driving style, Have you got the necessary skills to get the best out of these cars?

Session 1
Each participant will drive a fully works-prepared rally car (Subaru Impreza or Mitsubishi Lancer) around the stage with the instructor who will teach the basic rally driving technique to suit the course surface. You will be able to put the car through it?s paces to test the level of under steer, grip, acceleration and braking. You will be able to assess how good the car is before going on to session 2 in which you can repeat the process in the other car.

Session 2
Each participant will drive the other fully works-prepared rally car (Subaru Impreza or Mitsubishi Lancer) around the stage with the instructor. You will be able to put the other car through it?s paces to test the level of under steer, grip, acceleration and braking. You will be able to assess how good the car is and compare it with your first drive.

High Speed Passenger Ride
At the end of the session the instructor will get his revenge and take you on a high speed ride in one of the two cars.

Choice of three start times 9.00am or 11.30am or 2.00pm // 4 to 1 Pupil to instructor ratio // Short classroom session on basic rally theory, together with safety briefing // Professional tuition by enthusiastic, experienced rally competitors // The course will last approximately 2 hours // High speed 'white knuckle' ride by your instructor

STAGE DETAILS AND LOCATION

Thetford Forest - VIEW MAP
The stage used is situated 5 miles north-west of Thetford within the forest and provides a full gravel stage. Please note that High speed passenger rides are not available at this venue.

Dalby Forest - VIEW MAP
Dalby Forest is used extensively for both local and national rallies and has in the past hosted stages of Britains round of the World Rally Championship. The stages used are on full gravel within a safe area of the forest and provide the perfect venue for teaching the skills of driving on loose gravel. Dalby Forest is situated 5 miles north of Pickering in North Yorkshire.

Twyford Forest - VIEW MAP
This forest is located 10 miles south of Stamford on the A1 and provides both loose and concrete stages on which to learn the skills of rallying. Twyford forest hosts many competitive national rallies throughout the year

Oakley - VIEW MAP
This site is located close to Oxford and Thame and the venue provides both loose gravel and concrete stages.
